Interviews
Interview with former 2 time Heavyweight Champions - Brendon O'Shea - April 08 After I finished my GCSE's I realised that I was no longer going to be able to play sports competitively anymore, I knew that I wasn't a good enough football or basketball player to take it any further, and I was stuck. I was bored one day and found the Rock's autobiography; I spent the whole day reading it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. After reading it I immediately started watching WWE again, and before I even started watching it I knew that this is what I wanted to do. Ric Flair is my number one favourite wrestler of all time. Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko are another group of wrestlers whom I really enjoyed watching, and all had some fantastic matches in America and Japan. Just under 3 years. I was trained at The Wrestling Academy (TWA) by head trainers Samson and Bull Harley. ACW and EAW. Bletchley Leisure Centre, in the theatre. Its small size means you can really only fit 150 people in there, but the atmosphere is always electric. My biggest influence so far would have to be Samson. His technical style is what I strive for; he can pretty much do anything in the ring, so for me to be able to work with him can only make me stronger. I've travelled with a few people; before I could drive I travelled with Crawling West mostly, and I can assure you, you haven't been on a road trip until you've been in a vehicle with him! Lights on, lights off! I've also travelled with Mantastic, and those road trips are great too, Tropicanna drinks are free! Hands down my favourite match so far was my ACW Heavyweight title match against Samson on January 19, 2007 in Bletchley Leisure Centre at ACW Frontline 2. My favourite opponent is Samson; he always pushes me to the limit both physically and mentally, and forces me to be at my absolute best. Texas Cloverleaf. I am a big fan of Dean Malenko and he used it as his finisher a lot. I'm sure the man of a 1000 holds wouldn't mind me borrowing one! Other than ACW!!!! It would have to be All Star Wrestling, I have been to see a few of their events and have enjoyed them both; they bring in some great wrestlers from overseas including Brody Steele, Carl-Pierre Oullet and Joe E. Legend. One Day Remains by Alterbridge. The lyrics are very powerful, and the second verse in particular always hits home to me; When every wound has been re-opened, and in this world of give and take, you must have faith, and the distance to your dreams stretch beyond reach, don't lay down and die. I won the ACW Heavyweight title in January 2007. The feeling was incredible and it became a very emotional. I had a lot of fan support and I will never forget the crowd erupting when the bell rang. My peers congratulating me at the end of the match though made my night. I'd like to have a cage match. There isn't anyone in particular that I'd like to wrestle in the future, it's my goal to mix with the best, so whoever happens to be there are the people I'd like to wrestle. I'd like to wrestle across the UK and Europe, and start a family with my girlfriend Liz if she is lucky enough! | |||
