Interview with 'The Rainbow Kid' - November 2007

1)    Tell us a little about your childhood.

Ok well as you might or might not know I am still experiencing my childhood being only 15. But a lot has changed since I was little I used to be the little Fat kid that no one talked to. I've grown up in Milton Keynes. And haven't really moved around a lot.

2) When did you first view wrestling?

I first viewed Wrestling when I was a baby most likely due to my mum being obsessed with the wrestler Jeff Hardy. Also because of my Brother (blue lightning) he always was more into Wrestling then I was, I really only watched it at first because I felt I had to be like him because he always seemed like the coolest person, I know think a little differently, not trying to stand underneath his shadow.

3) Did you know then you wanted to be a wrestler?

I didn't exactly want to be a wrestler in the first place to be honest I became interested in it when Blue started training and telling me how fun it was, and how I should go. So I became a little more interested in wrestling once more.

4) How did you get your first break in the business?

I first got onto an event on Saturday 24th February 2007 In Hitchin. I got on this event by my mum, must sound rather weird really but my mum got me into this event by talking to Samson and saying how I was ready for it. This then was agreed by Samson.

5) Who trained you to wrestle?

I was taught by Samson and Bull particularly, but I was also taught by most if not all of the ACW roster and previous members of ACW.

6) What were your first matches like?

My first matches was only Rumbles, and battle royals, which were incredibly painful, being the smallest and least experienced I was picked on by all the big wrestlers coming out of my first match purple. With the following matches not being as rough but just as painful.

7) How would you describe yourself as a wrestler for those who may not know you?

Well my wrestling style I feel is more High flying. I like to feel I will go to the edge to try and come out the winner.

8) What is your favourite match that you've been involved in so far, and who have been your favourite opponents?

My favourite Match I've had so far has to be my single's match against Vyper on the 29th September where I feel was my favourite match. I didn't come out victorious but its one of those matches that you just enjoy and you kick yourself that you didn't win.

9) Who are your better friends in the business?

I'd say my better friends In the business, is a mixture of people but one of the guys I am closer to then others is probably Kev Kurtis being my brothers tag team partner. And over the time I've got to know him we have become really good mates and a guy that I keep in close contact with. I'm also pretty good mates with the entire roster but I'd have to say Kev is my closest mate from ACW.

10) What would you consider your lowest and highest points in wrestling so far?

I wouldn't exactly say I have a lowest point in wrestling at this point in my career but my highest point is probably winning the light heavy weight championship, which really was my highest point being the youngest ever person to hold the belt makes you feel over whelmed with pride.

11) What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I'm either revising for my GCSE's coming up which is large part in my life, also I waste a lot of my time playing different instruments which help relax me at the toughest times. I also tend to waste the majority of my time listening to music and playing with wrestling figures, which are still fun especially with the collection my brother and myself have collected over the years.

12) What five words would you feel describe you best?

-Colourful

-Different

-Extraordinary

-Enthusiastic

-Brave

13) What are your main plans for the future?

Well in the future I hope to continue my role in wrestling as well as, working with the younger kids, which cant be too hard.

14) What are your thoughts on WWE and TNA, and the UK and USA Indy promotions?

Well My thoughts on WWE is terrible I've watched a couple of there events lately and I've switched over rather quickly being the matches all seem very boring slow paced. I've never really watched TNA but from what I've heard is just a graveyard for wrestlers that haven't cut it in WWE. And as for the UK promotions I haven't really been able to travel to any of there events I've watched some on DVD, and surprisingly I've enjoyed them very much having some really interesting matches.

15) Who do you like to watch and learn from?

Well to learn from I normally just browse youtube for videos of matches that I've been told are good and some, which are dreadful. I do feel this does help especially when you sit there saying moves you think they should do screaming at the computer always is pretty funny.

16) Where do you see the direction of wrestling going over the next couple of years?

Well I'll go wherever the wind takes me really. Having an open mind and really wrestling wherever and whoever against.

17) Imagine - you're a promoter, what kind of event would you be looking to put on?

Well if I was a promoter, I'd have to have a lot of different matches to keep the fans entertained but with a massive match every event maybe a comedy sort of match, which I feel would be entertaining.

18) How do you feel the business has changed since you first became a part of it, and do you feel your attitude has changed also?

Of course the business has changed, and my attitude as well. I think the promotion has lost a lot of decent talent but has brought in a lot of new talent, and as for my attitude let's just say last year I wouldn't have the guts to get up in front of a crowd of people topless and in Lycra. It's seriously helped my charisma.

19) Where do you think you would be, if not for wrestling?

If I weren't Wrestling or didn't start wrestling, I reckon I'd most likely be at home behind the game consoles being a shadow in my brother's footprint.

20) And to finish, is there anything you'd like to promote, or anyone you'd like to thank?

Well id like to thank my mum especially because she's always there to support my brother and myself and has helped me get as far as I've got in the business. Id also like to thank Samson and Bull for training me and helping me get as far as I have in the business.
